feature of Tehari district. The peak of misty Himalaya’s, vast lawn added its beauty to the site. Tehri’s administrative
headquarter is at New Tehri. According to the census of 2001 the Tehri has population of approximately 604,747. Overall 20%
population increase stated in every year
Old Tehri – The place is approximately 16 kilometer from new Tehari and 84 km from the Rishikesh spot. Incredible places like
to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath is near to the capital Garhwal. Before independence the place was ruled by
Raja Sudarshan Shah. You can see lots of historical buildings across the Tehri .
Tehri Tehari is situated 1,550 meter above the sea height. You can see a huge artificial lake and a dam named as Tehri
which built in between Bhilangana and Bhagirathi River. New Tehari is the district headquarters of the Tehri district. You can find lots of private resorts over there, in fact New Tehri is considered as the Asia’s most comprehensive and successful rehabilitations center.

Narendra Nagar: Narendra Nagar is one best tourist spot that you should visit, if you are going to there. It is previously known as the capital of Garhwallies, also the place of importance comes mainly on the Rishikesh – Gangotri Yamuna route.
Kaudiyala: This beautiful spot is approximately 37 km far from, Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. Kaudiyala is most famous for water rafting. GMVN tourism department conducts rafting course here.
Khatling Glacier: Glacier is one of the popular trekking destinations of uttarakhand. River Bhilangna added more beauty to this place. Trekking starts from Ghuttu which is approximately 62km far from Tehri.
Tehri Dam: Tehri Dam is the tallest dam in Asia and the fourth tallest rock fill dam in the world sprawling over an area of 45 sq. kms in the Bhagirathi and Bhilangana valleys near Tehri town.
Chandrabadani Devi: This holy place is situated on Chandrabadani Mountain, which is almost 10 KM from Kandi Khal and 25 km from Devpraya. History reveals that torso of Goddess Sati, the companion of Lord Shiva fell here. So that is why this place gain a special attention in shivaratri related functions.
Nagtibba : Nagtibba which is at an attitude of 3.048 meter is one of the favorite destination for trekking and lots adventurous sports. This place has good presence of wild forests, You can see lots of eco tourism related works over there.
Chamba: Chamba is one of the best resorts located 1676 meters height and 48 kms far from Narendra Nagar headed to the road Gangotri
Dhanaulti : Dhanaulti is 24 kms approximately from Tehri. The place which lies exactly near to Mussoorie, so of Mussoorie helps to get more importance to the place. Lovely atmosphere and the moderate temperature helps to get more importance to the site.
Dev Prayag: It is a convergence point between Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers and it is considered as the one of the top notch places in the 'Panch prayag'. The town which is exactly lies on the Rishikesh to Badrinath route which is exactly 87 km more from Narendra Nagar.

the Tehri.
By Rail: The nearest rail head is at Rishikesh which is approximately 76 km far from the place.
