Someshwar
Situated at the distance of 35kms from Almora, Someshwar houses a temple with Lord Shiva as its headed deity. The place is built by the Raja Som Chand who is also the founder of Chand Dynasty. The name of the temple is given after the merging of Raja Som Chand's and Lord Maheshwara's names. The sacred temple keeps great religious value among the people of this region.
Kausani
Kausani is set above sea level at an elevation of 1890 meters and is located 47 kilometers away from Almora. You may know the name of Sumitra Nandan PANT- the famous Hindi poet, was born in this region. It is a place presented with chirping birds, fantastic snow covered Himalayan view, Green hilly area, orchads, and charming environment. It is a worth watching destination.
Binsar
Binsar is 31 kilometers away from Almora and is famous for its highly visited Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary where thousands of tourists visit every year. People often visit this place to worship at Lord Shiva’s temple- Bineshwar at Binsar. Raja Kalyan had constructed this temple who was king of Chand Dynasty. Located at a distance of 35 kms away from the town of Almora, at an altitude of 1,870mts above sea level, Jageshwar is a holy temple dedicated to lord Shiva in Kumaon region. It is one of important tourist destination and is believed to be eighth jyotirlinga in India. It is positioned in the lap of nature behind lush green dense deodar trees. It is a set of ancient temples which are about hundred in number. It is a peace offering place indeed.
