Martola
Surrounded by flourishing green gardens, Martola is most apt place for picnic. It is located at a distance of 10 kms from Almora. Foreign tourists found this place most apt for visit in India. To reach this place vehicles are available till Panuwanaula and afterwards one need to walk by feet to cover the distance left.
Bright End Corner
To enjoy and see most picturesque view of sunrise and sunset through peaks of Himalaya, bright end corner is perfect place which is located 2 km away from Almora. If you love reading literature and teaching books then you can find your way at Vivekananda library to read several literature and teaching books. There is place where Swami Vivekananda stayed while going to Himalayas and this place is named as Vivekananda Memorial which is also a famous tourist attraction.
Kalimut
At a distance of 5kms from Almora located Goddess Kali spot which is a major area of attraction for devotees of kali maa. Snowy peak of Himalayan looks so fascinating and eye soothing from this place.
Kasaar Devi Temple
Devotees will find the perfect way at Kasar Devi Temple which is located 7km away from Almora. In the year 1920 Swami Vivekananda also meditated here and blessed temple also get mention in Skanda Purana. According to an inscription that was found there on rock, Kasaar devi temple was constructed by Rudrak king. An amazing view of superb Himalayas can also be observed from this temple.
Gobind Ballabh Pant Public Museum
You can visit Gobind Ballabh Pant Public Museum opposite almora bus stand. The museum remains closed on Mondays and other Government Holidays. You can visit between 10.30 am to 4.30 pm and remain closed on government holidays and Monday.
Deer Park
: At a distance of 3km from Almora you can visit Deer park that comes under Narayan Tiwari Dewai.
Simtola
From Simtola you can enjoy breathtaking views of mountains roofed with deodar and pine trees. The place is located at a distance of just 3 km from Almora and best for picnicking and camping.
Chitai Golu Devta Temple
Chitai Temple is devoted to incarnation of Gaur Bhairav i.e. Gollu Devta. Temple is located just 8kms away from Almora and has great reputation among worshippers who have high belief of fulfilling the wish of every person. It is belief of people that if a devotee will hang a bell and pray at this temple with clear conscious then his wish will surely come true. This belief can be analyzed by large number of bells hung in Chitai temple premises. People also make wishes to Gollu Devta by writing their wishes to Gollu devta along with bells.
Katarmal Sun Temple
One of the oldest temple Katarmal sun temples is Sun God’s second most important temple after Sun Temple of Orissa. Located at a distance of 7 km from Almora Katarmal sun temple is 800 yrs old that represents convoluted sculpturing.
