is dedicated to the renowned literary figure of modern Hindi literature, Sumitranandan Pant. He was a
famous Hindi poet who was born and brought up in Kausani town. This museum showcases holograph of
text copies and poems of his literary works at that time. Besides his immense contribution to literary
field, the museum also comprises Hindi and English entertaining books written by different authors.

Sumitranandan Pant Gallery- Renowned Literature Museum in Kausani
Museum gallery was developed in Kausani to venerate Sumitranandan Pant. The museum comprises various manuscripts, articles, poems, and awards that are displayed in the showcase. Most of the books and literary works in the museum comprise interesting writings by Pant that reflect his life. Sumitranandan Pant was born on 20th May 1990 at Kausani but his mother could not survive and his father gave him to a Gassain Babaand who was a devotee to Lord Shiva. The Poet was later named as Gassain Dutt by his guardian.
In 1905, Sumitranandan Pant commenced his fundamental education with Vernacular school in Kausani. After few years, he engrossed himself in different languages like Persian, Sanskrit and English. From his early days he was inspired by the nature and serenity of Himalayas which led aroused his interest in culture. Later he went to Varanasi for higher studies and from there to Allahabad where is stayed for almost 10 years of time and during his study there he published various poetries such as Pallav and Vina after his name.
In the year 1931, he visited his brother Hari Dutt Pant at Lucknow where he became friend to Prince of the state of Kalakankar and spent much of his time in his company. He edited a monthly periodical Rupabh then in 1938.
