Lakshmi Ashram/Sarla Ashram
one of the disciple of Mahatma Gandhi - Catherine Hillman founded Lakshmi ashram which is also often called as Sarla Ashram. This ashram is named after Sarlaben which is another name of Catherine Hillman. Sarla shram was founded in 1964 in stunning valley of Kosi. This ashram is started keeping in concern the goodness of women and poor girls. They are provided shelter here and are taught numerous skills such as cleaning, pampering animals, growing vegetables and cooking etc. There are more than 70 women and orphaned poor girls who stay here in ashram. Being located to a silent and serene place, sarla ashram/lakshmi ashram is surrounded by serene hilly atmosphere.
One of the major attractions of nature is a Rudradhari waterfall which is surrounded by several ancient caves in close by areas. This place is also related to God Vishnu and God shiv as per the puranic stories which have mentions of lord Hari and Lord rudra. Very close to Rudhrahari waterfall Shiv Temple is located at Someshwar. You can trek to Adi kailash region to get an outstanding view of glorious waterfalls of Kasauni hillstation.

Kausani is also known for its world class fabulous pear orchards and tea gardens. In an area of around 208 hectares, Girias Uttaranchal tea is planted in Kausani. Sumitranandan Pant Gallery
Born in Kausani Sumitranandan Pant was a reputed hindi poet. To honor this great poet, Sumitranandan Pant Gallery was constructed where one can find hundred of Hindi and English books in glass selves. In order to mark birth anniversary of Sumitranandan pant, a symposium of poetry is arranged here every year.
This ashram is also often called as Gandhi Ashram which is constructed as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi who had given the name to kausani as 'Switzerland of India' when he stayed here in 1929 and written Ansakti Yoga in pleasant weather of Kausani while appreciating its beauty. One can find wide range of books and Gandhi’s pictures at Anasakti ashram. In evening as well as in morning prayers are done at a short prayer room in this ashram.
