Dodital is a perfect holiday destinations for those who wish to experience a tranquil environ amid natural emerald settings and panoramic view to fresh water lake. The lake is at times referred as mysterious lakes because the depth of this lake has never been gauged. The lake is 3,310mts above sea level, situated in the Uttarkashi district. Total circumference of this lake is 1.5km.

Along the banks of this fresh water lake is the temple of Lord Ganesha. Dodital is also the birth place of Lord Ganesha and is referred as Dhundhital meaning “Ganesh ka Tal”. Rich flora and fauna are found in the surroundings of Dodital. Deodar and pine trees are prominent ones. In addition, Dodital is one of the fresh water lakes where Himalayan Trouts are found. The lake is named after the famous Himalayan trouts known as “Dodi” in local language.

Source of this fresh water lake, Dodital is the natural springs and Asi Ganga. Best time to visit Dodital is from April to November, but trek lovers prefer visiting Dodital during winters.

How to reach Dodital?
To reach Dodital one has to cover 22kms trek that commences from Sangam Chatti and ends at Dodital. Further, those who wish to travel to Darwa Top need to cover additional moderate route. Sangam Chatti is covered by motorable roads to Uttarkashi.
